Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify the adverse effects of intubation.
  2. Outline the benefits of premedication.
  3. Discuss the agents used for premedication.

Purpose of this CE Activity: The purpose of this column is to review data supporting premedication before neonatal endotracheal intubation and explore available pharmacologic
agents to define the optimal cocktail.

Requirements for Completion: The following requirements are necessary for successful completion of this CNE activity.

  • Access to a computer with an Internet connection
  • Pass the posttest with a score of 80%
  • Complete and submit the evaluation for this CNE activity
