There are many causes for neonatal hemodynamic compromise. Dr. Nawaytou discusses the use of targeted neonatal echocardiography in evaluation of neonatal hemodynamics and how it can help guide therapy. Topics covered include assessment of pulmonary hypertension, certain critical congenital heart diseases, patent ductus arteriosus, and pericardial and pleural effusions. Dr. Nawaytou also discusses the use of echocardiography in guiding bedside procedures.
