Become captivated while examining screening tools for hyperbilirubinemia as well as emerging therapies that are essential for protecting newborn brains. Easily decipher (and then be able to teach) various bilirubin nomograms for predicting phototherapy initiation as well as rare exchange transfusion consideration. Share with parents, the day you return to the bedside 1) the differences between breast feeding and breast milk jaundice, 2) avoiding putting the baby near sunlight or a window, 3) skin care for "bili stools," and 4) the "Why" of blue light.
