Ms. Williams identifies disparities, cultural beliefs, and medical practices that serve to prevent mothers from breastfeeding. Culturally relevant care solutions are discussed.

  • Discuss disparities among at-risk breastfeeding populations: cultural, economic, education, and positive exposure.
  • Describe how to identify and ameliorate common disparties.
  • Illustrate the importance of providing the breastfeeding dyad with resources to improve overall breastfeeding and decrease disparities.
