Description

Laboring a patient is both an art and a science. And, of course, it's more than looking at the maternal-fetal monitor! A back-to-basics approach will be used to integrate the mechanisms and physiology of labor with various comfort measures, tools, and techniques to labor a woman effectively. Learn how to assess labor progress using non-invasive parameters. These techniques are applicable for both unmedicated and medicated labors and births.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the impact of effective labor support on maternal and fetal outcomes.
  • Discuss integrating the mechanisms and physiology of labor with comfort measures and tools and techniques to labor a woman effectively.
