Description

The neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) is an integral part of many NICUs, but there is currently a shortage of NNPs and units are struggling to find ways to safely care for infants. How do we address the shortage, care for an aging workforce, and deal with market forces that affect our profession? Dr. Wallace describes the current status of the NNP workforce, the changing landscape around us, and current efforts to support the role of the NNP while still providing the best care in infants.

Learning Objective:

  • Discuss the strengths and challenges facing our profession.

Speaker(s):

  • Tami Wallace, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and Neonatal Allied Health Provider Educator, Nationwide Children's Hospital
