To describe a dextrose gel treatment protocol for the treatment of neonatal hypoglycemia.

Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

Summarize the literature related to the use of dextrose gel for the treatment of neonatal hypoglycemia.
Discuss the development and implementation of a dextrose gel treatment protocol for the treatment of neonatal hypoglycemia.

Purpose of this CE Activity:

The purpose of this article is to describe a knowledge translation project to introduce dextrose 40 percent oral gel in one tertiary center to treat low blood glucose in newborns at <48 hours of age.

Requirements for Completion: The following requirements are necessary for successful completion of this CNE activity.

Access to a computer with an Internet connection
Pass the posttest with a score of 80%
Complete and submit the evaluation for this CNE activity
