Identify the recommended management of maternal syphilis.
Describe the clinical presentation of congenital syphilis.
Outline the diagnostic tests used to detect syphilis.
Discuss the management of the infant with congenital syphilis.

Purpose of this CE Activity: The purpose of this article is to report on the complicated treatment of an infant suffering from congenital syphilis and the current upward trend of the incidence of congenital syphilis in the United States.
