Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

Identify the types and prevalence of human trafficking.
Identify potential victims of human trafficking and the factors that places a person at risk for being a victim.
Identify common health problems associated with human trafficking survivors.

Purpose of this CNE activity: Human trafficking is a well-hidden human rights violation that crosses all genders, ethnicities, and socioeconomic levels. Victims of human trafficking come in contact with healthcare providers on multiple occasions for numerous reasons. Unfortunately, many healthcare providers fail to recognize that the patient is a victim of human trafficking. Dr. Ernewein will provide literature and case studies to help you in the recognition, treatment and referral of human trafficking victims.
