Christine L. Byerly BSN, RNC-NIC

Christine Byerly, Assistant Nurse Manager of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center, offers 36 years of NICU experience. Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing, she is dedicated to promoting high quality care, advancing nursing excellence, and enhancing the patient experience. As the Magnet Champion Co-lead, she helped the organization achieve a 4th Magnet Designation. She jointly led the unit’s efforts to achieve a Silver Beacon Award by the American Academy of Critical Care Nurses. In 2009, she co-originated the NICU Advisory Council, comprised of interdisciplinary staff and former NICU families, collaborating on projects to enhance the experience for future families. Christine lives in Towson, Maryland with her husband, Douglas and their cocker spaniel, Sadie.
