Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Activity: S.T.A.B.L.E. Cardiac Module - An Advanced Course for Future Instructors

Purpose of this CNE activity: The Academy of Neonatal Nursing provides clinically current information on the technical, medical, and nursing aspects of neonatal care as well as the legal and ethical implications related to that care. This CNE activity provides information to nurses and other health care professionals who care for newborn, premature, and ill infants and their families. Specific objectives for this presentation are listed below.

Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

Discuss the physical assessment of neonates with suspected congenital heart disease (CHD).
Discuss the differential diagnosis of neonates with CHD.
Describe the anatomic features of neonates with CHD.
Describe the clinical presentation of neonates with CHD.
Describe the initial stabilization of neonates with CHD.
Discuss the modifications in the S.T.A.B.L.E. guidelines that are necessary when caring for neonates with CHD.

Requirements for Completion: The following requirements are necessary for successful completion of this CNE activity.

Access to a computer with an Internet connection
Attend at least 90 percent of each session
Complete and submit the evaluation for this CNE activity
