Margaret Johnson is an NNP with more than 25 years of experience as an RN in a busy Level III NICU, before becoming an NNP. She has been an NNP for 6 years, working in Level II and Level III units. Caring for patients as a bedside and transport nurse has given her a strong foundation in fundamental assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to anticipate potential adverse events. She also works as a clinical instructor for NNP students.
Margaret’s passion for the NICU began in 1984 with the birth of her first child at 27 weeks. She appreciates the journey watching the field of neonatology grow, change, and improve the lives of so many babies; and doing things we never thought were possible all those years ago. In her spare time, she enjoys her grandchildren, travel, and time outdoors.
