Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

Describe potential outcomes of pre- and postnatal cannabis ingestion on children.
Discuss counseling scripts for parents who use cannabis while pregnant or breast feeding.
Discuss current research that supports professional organization recommendations regarding cannabis use and breastfeeding.

Purpose of this CNE activity: How do I differentiate THC and CBD? Does smoking have a greater effect than using edible cannabis? How does cannabis affect the fetus or newborn when either parent uses? How long does it stay in human milk and how is the baby affected? Should we use moms' human milk if they were positive for THC? Ms. Shogan will creatively facilitate your ability to share the answers with current evidence-based data on this emotionally charged topic with parents and colleagues.
