Addressing Health Equity: Special Nursing Continuing Professional Development Offer

Inequities in neonatal care are widespread and contribute to both morbidity and mortality. The rate of preterm birth is twice as high for black infants as it is for white infants. Other racial groups including Hispanics, American Indian, Native Hawaiian and Puerto Ricans experience poorer neonatal outcomes compared to Caucasians.
In an effort to raise awareness of the impact of these disparities, Neonatal Network published a special issue of the journal [Neonatal Network 42(4)]. This special CE package is drawn from the articles in this special issue and will address the following learning outcome:

Upon completion of this activity, the learner will increase their knowledge of how health disparities impact maternal and neonatal outcomes and what strategies can be used to mitigate these effects
