Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

Recognize multiple wound types that arise in neonatal patients.
Describe advanced wound care dressings and treatment techniques unique to neonatal patients.
Discuss the basic principles of advanced wound care and how they apply to neonatal patients.

Purpose of this CNE activity: Dr. Amaya reviews advanced wound care techniques and products as they apply to neonatal patients. Various wounds which arise in the NICU patient will be illustrated. Case studies illustrating advanced wound care interventions in neonatal patients are discussed. Attendees participate in a quiz at the conclusion of the presentation to highlight important topics.
