Intended Audience: All neonatal nurses

Purpose of this CNE activity: The Academy of Neonatal Nursing provides clinically current information on the technical, medical, and nursing aspects of neonatal care as well as the legal and ethical implications related to that care. This CNE activity provides information to nurses and other health care professionals who care for newborn, premature, and ill infants and their families. Specific objectives for this presentation are listed below.

Session Description: Peer-reviewed abstracts have been selected for podium presentations. Each session has multiple presenters. These presentations bring you up-to-date innovative research and clinical practice projects. Discover what your colleagues are doing, as they share their unique experiences.

Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

Describe the Interventions that nurses instigate in the first hour of the compromised neonate's life.
Describe innovative programs that strive to empower NICU families—ranging from very basic needs such as food and lodging, to providing varying forms of education and support.
Identify and resolve issues encountered by caregivers in the immediate post discharge period.

Requirements for Completion: The following requirements are necessary for successful completion of this CNE activity.

Access to a computer with an Internet connection
Attend/view at least 90% of the session
Complete and submit the evaluation for this CNE activity
