Sarah A Coggins MD, MSCE
Sarah Coggins, MD MSCE is an attending neonatologist in the Division of Neonatology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and CHOP Newborn Care at Pennsylvania Hospital, affiliated with Penn Medicine. Dr. Coggins obtained her undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University, and attended medical school at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at CHOP, and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Coggins’ research interests include neonatal infectious diseases and optimal use of antimicrobial therapy in infants at risk for infection. Her current research focuses on (a) approaches to risk-stratification of preterm infants at risk for early-onset sepsis and (b) use of pharmacometric methods to optimize neonatal antibiotic prescribing.
