Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

Discuss the pathophysiology of HIE.
Outline the etiology, prevention, and diagnosis of HIE.
Describe the management of an infant with HIE.

Purpose of this CE Activity:The purpose of this article is to teach neonatal nurses in Level I or Level II nurseries about resuscitation and post-resuscitation care of an infant at risk for HIE while awaiting transport to an NICU for therapeutic cooling.

Requirements for Completion: The following requirements are necessary for successful completion of this CNE activity.

Access to a computer with an Internet connection
Pass the posttest with a score of 80%
Complete and submit the evaluation for this CNE activity
