Outline the maternal, perinatal, and intrapartum factors that influence thermoregulation in the neonate.
Identify the mechanisms of heat exchange.
Discuss the presentation and management of neonatal hypo- and hyperthermia.

Purpose of this CE Activity:

The purpose of this article is to describe the mechanics of thermoregulation, review current evidence-based practices, and provide guidance to optimize a thermoneutral environment for the neonate.
