Objectives: Upon completion, learners will be able to:

List expected clinical presentations seen during the care of infants in palliative care programs.
Discuss expectations of parents and families and how providers and healthcare workers can partner together to provide the desired outcomes and journey.
Verbalize action items and possible strategies to partner between departments to develop and initiate a palliative care program in the perinatal setting.

Purpose of this CNE activity: This session includes a presentation of the evidence and science surrounding palliative care programs in the perinatal setting. Clinical presentations of infants, common diagnoses necessitating Palliative care, program inclusions, family needs and participation, and collaboration between providers, nursing, NICU, pediatrics and perinatal departments is discussed. Program development and roll out will be shared.
